Getting started with Living CMS

This is a basic guide to help you get started with Living Content Managemet System. Everyone's needs are different but the steps in deploying a new website are all similar.

Which Version

The first step in getting started with using Living Content Management System is choosing the version that is right for you.

  • DNA is definitly the most popular choice for small and medium sized buinesses. It is powerful, easy to use and is well supported. The DNA edition will suit most needs.
  • Enterprise and Enterprise Lite are for people looking to sell thier products and services on the Internet.

Template ( theme )

Having chosen which version you need you then move on to your options regard how your new website is going to look. There are three options here for DNA and only two for the Enterpise versions.

  • Option 1 is using one of our standard totally free Living CMS Templates. These templates are only available for DNA. We will even take your logo and embed it into the template for you.  Our free templates do not include e-newsletter theming.

  • Option 2 is to get a graphics designer to create a web design / layout for you. We will then take this design and create a custom template for you. Charges for this service vary between $600 - $1400 NZD depending on how complicated the design is. To help designers we have produced a design guide to help designers.

  • Option 3 is to tell us what you are looking for and we will contract a designer to produce a design for you. We work with different designers so as to get a wide variety of design styles. When you are happy with the design we then turn it into a Living CMS template. Charges for this service vary between $600 - $1400 NZD depending on how complicated the design is. This price does not include the cost of the design.

*Quotes will be provided with all costings being in New Zealand Dollards ( NZD ). No work will commence before 50% of the total cost is pre-paid with the remainer owed before the website is made live on-line.

Adding Content ( optional )

Once your template is completed we like to give our customers the option of hosting the site for a short time on one of our staging servers. This gives you time to input the content  and or products, do testing while etc all while keeping it out of the public eye. During this stage we supply support to ensure you are comfortable using the tools built into Living CMS.

Launching your new website

At this stage we would have setup any new domain or transfered your existing domain across to Absolute Hosting our web hosting partner. When you are happy with your new site and all fees are paid up we will move your site from one of our staging servers across to a live webserver.
